Prof. Dr. Rainer Hehl
Visiting Professor, Institute of Architecture, Technische Universität Berlin

Interests: Rainer Hehl’s research projects are ranging from urban informality to popular architecture production to mass housing within the international context. The emphasis of the research investigation lies in the formation of urban milieus, self-organization and the appropriation of livelihoods by its users. In his recent studies he is investigating the correlation between spatial and social organizations and models for cooperative architecture production. The intersection with other disciplines such as contemporary anthropology, sociology, political sciences and neuro-sciences is particularly focussed on the question how the emotional constitution of urban dwellers impact the perception, the performance and the production of urban realities.
