Interests: Experimental psychologist with interest in the neural basis of spatial-cognitive processes and the influence of physical activity on cognitive and neural dynamics. In order to measure human brain activity in people in motion, the Berlin Mobile/Brain Body Imaging Lab works with synchronized recordings of movement parameters and brain activity using electroencephalography (EEG), often coupled with virtual reality (VR). In addition, new mobile amplification systems allow recordings of human brain activity outside of laboratories and thus the measurement of neural responses to the real environment. This is the basis for neurourbanistic studies that provide new insights into human brain activity in response to design features of the environment.
