Prof. Dr. Matthias Graf von Ballestrem

Interests: Matthias Ballestrem wrote his doctoral thesis on implicit visual perception of space. He uses public interiors to research perception and description of spatial complexity, as well as the mechanisms and automatisms of physical interaction with architectural spaces. Another focus is on the teaching and research of design methods. In particular, he uses experimental design methods to investigate the conditions that lead to an open-ended design process.
