Does the city make us sick? Prof. Dr. Mazda Adli and Jonas Schöndorf investigated the effects of urban stress on emotions, behavior and mental health:

“City dwellers live under more favorable conditions on average: More favorable conditions for individual development and advancement, a denser supply of education and support, better opportunities for prosperity, better health care and a rich cultural offering, even if these resources are in turn unequally distributed within cities. And yet: The risk of stress-related mental illness is greater for city dwellers than for country dwellers.”
